German Berbel, D.O. - General Surgery
Dr. Berbel received his medical doctorate at The University of North Texas (UNT) Health Science Center at Fort Worth, where he also completed his General Surgery residency. Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in the year 2000, Dr. Berbel has been in private and group practices for seven years, and served in academic posts for five years, and has 12 years of research experience. He was assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth for five years, also serving as Director of Medical Education at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas in Fort Worth during a portion of those years. Before relocating to the Houston area, Dr. Berbel took a three-year post as Associate Director of Medical Education at the Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Trained in laparoscopic minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Berbel performs abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia repair of all types and breast surgeries, as well as all general surgery procedures including colorectal, anti-reflux, gallbladder and thyroid. He sees adults in his practice and is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Berbel takes time with each patient to ensure they fully understand what to expect when a procedure is needed, and how to improve their recovery experience. He is meticulous, careful and efficient, and stays current with new surgical techniques that benefit patients and improve outcomes. In his free time, Dr. Berbel enjoys scuba diving, completing home projects and spending quality time with his wife and children at their home in Missouri City.


Glen Garner, M.D., F.A.C.S. - General Surgery
Born in Calgary, Canada, and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Garner attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, College of Medicine, and completed his Surgery residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He was certified in Surgery by the American Board of Surgery in 2002, and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2006. Dr. Garner’s main focus involves surgery for diseases of the breast including breast cancer. Additionally, he performs minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology and endocrinology, hernia repair and management of abdominal wall defects, emergency and trauma surgery, as well as minor vascular access and dialysis access procedures.
Prior to joining Memorial Hermann Medical Group, Dr. Garner was in private group practice in the southeast Houston area for more than eight years. He currently serves as the Trauma Service Medical Director at Memorial Hermann Hospital Southeast, as well as President of the Harris County Medical Society Southeast Branch. He is a lifetime member of the Komen Race for the Cure and lives in Pearland with his family. Away from his practice, Dr. Garner enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
